We're here to address housing injustice in Las Vegas with a focus on both immediate relief and lasting change. Our approach is centered on supporting individuals, pushing for policy reforms, and empowering our community, all while ensuring that our efforts can be sustained for the long term.

Goals:

  • Advocate for fair housing practices and policies at local, state, and federal levels.

  • Provide immediate support and resources to residents facing housing crises.

  • Educate the community about housing rights and empower them to self-advocate.

  • Challenge systemic discrimination in housing, particularly against disabled individuals and families.

  • Build a strong, grassroots movement for housing justice in Las Vegas.

    Madelyn Rhodes is the founder of HEAR NV. She is a local actvist and former council president at Marble Manor Apartments. She has been interviewed by The Nevada Independent, Las Vegas Sun, and Las Vegas Review-Journal.

  • Sondra Cosgrove moved to Nevada in 1986 and is a history professor at the College of Southern Nevada, where she teaches U.S., Native American, and Latin American history. She is also the Executive Director of Vote Nevada, a community-oriented civic education nonprofit. Sondra promotes direct democracy as an important tool for strengthening our governing systems. As an educator, Sondra empowers every civic engager to participate actively in our democracy.

  • Through Arecibo Films LLC, facilitates innovative media for arts and culture initiatives. Featured panelist at the Eccentric Artists Shameless Unplugged Festival 2024. Recipient of Clark County's Pearson Documentary Grant 2024. Recipient of a Gratitude Award by former NV Senator, Valerie Wiener. Inspired by Puerto Rican icon, Doña Fela, Zachary passionately believes "la vida es lucha, servicio y arte”.
